A few weeks ago I introduced you to my newest gadget for photography: my DJI Spark Drone. Over the winter it was quite not the weather to fly it too much and so came no really usable images along. But as the weather cleared up in the past few weeks, I collected some more flight-minutes with the little thing. Last week I had a few spare minutes until my next appointment and so I decided to fly the drone. See whats the results by reading further.
I was somewhere above the city of Luzern and tought that it looks pretty nice to bring up the drone here. I flew a few rounds as I saw a small pond in the live-view. If flew there and to my surprise it was still frozen.
But that was not all of it. The ice had this amazing texture, rough and you even could spot some frozen movement of the water. I just really liked it and flew closer and around and settled on three images. Two of them are very similar.
I found this tree in contrast with the rough, frozen grass and the ice just nice. On the right you have the little creek that flows out of the pond and this tree trunk giving you a bit of scale to the scene. The other image, below, is pretty similar, with another tree. I just liked how the shadow came across the ice in which are kind of frozen waves visible.
The battery went already down, but I settled for the third shot, a close-up of the ice with a little bit of grass. I turned out to be worth as I like this image the most of all. It gives you so much texture but no real scale and lets you guess on what exactly your looking here.
All images where then post-processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. As jpeg. I am really surprised how good the quality still is and it is also absolutely printable. The whole experience was more than positive and I guess I will fly that thing even more in the future ;)
